Hi there!
My name is Betsy, and I created this blog to discuss beauty and to empower young women with the knowledge I have accrued working on the other side of the modeling industry, as the model booker.
Having worked as a model agent or “booker” the past 3 years for some very reputable agencies, my day to day was focused on how to develop the external beauty of a girl or guy. In Hollywood, I witnessed and experienced many people who measured their self worth on their external appearance and material possessions, and in turn, their confidence was non existent…there was no sense of self! I experienced young people who did not know proper eating habits and tortured their minds with food trying to be the size 2 they thought was perfect…
However, I also experienced amazing women; models and women who were beautiful simply because they had such a strong sense of self and conviction for who they were as people. These women did not completely value the external, rather, they valued what they stood for and the impact they could have on the world. I call this confidence.
I want to dedicate this blog to those women and to the young women who aspire to make a difference in this world and empower them with confidence! Which yes, does come from liking what you see in the mirror. But before you can like what you see in the mirror, you have to focus on developing the inside and on getting to know who you are and what you stand for in this world.
Lets celebrate our differences, as well as what makes us one! And that does not mean all looking the same!
True beauty is the intrinsic driving force within oneself…it is an intangible quality. It is following your heart and knowing who you are. It is recognizing that we are all one.
Things I consider beautiful at the moment: living a healthy lifestyle, excepting and liking who you are deep down, getting to know the world and other cultures, being FOCUSED and being POSITIVE!
Muah!
Betsy
