Since moving to LA, I definitely feel that my lifestyle has taken a much healthier turn! I’ve started drinking things like Kombucha(live protein enzyme drink that pumps up your immune system!)

eating only whole foods (which is much easier to do when you’re single, only feeding yourself and the yummy Brentwood Farmers Market is right up the street!), and lately practicing power yoga at least twice a week!

If you’re in the Santa Monica area between 6th and 2nd street from the hours of 6pm-8pm, you are bound to see yogi’s on every street corner with their yoga mat in tow either strapped to their back or under one arm.  Its actually quite the site, and I had always wondered where all these yoga lovers were heading to until I discovered their miraculous secret! They are all heading to one of the donation Yoga classes either on 2nd street or 6th street. You can check out the studio and schedule of classes here: Bryan Kest’s Power Yoga.

If you can’t make it to a class no worries, because I think Bryan is about to  broadcast a class once a week online! I haven’t been to one of Bryan’s classes yet, but I plan on trying it out this week…so I’ll let you know how my experience was! :)

I first went after my girlfriend Natalie asked me if I’d attend a class with her and I haven’t turned back! It felt so great to stretch out my limbs, build up my strength and concentrate on being fully present for an hour and a half! I really like this class for a consistent routine much better than Bikram (although I still love sweaty yoga every once in a while) because it is at a faster pace and the flow motion really energizes your muscles! The room is not heated, but I recommend bringing a towel because I worked up such a sweat that I was slipping off my mat!!

After just a week I noticed a significant change in the way my body looks and feels! My arms and mid section feel leaner and stronger and I’m waking up with waaay more energy! Its especially good for blood circulation and posture if you are like me and sit at a desk most of the day….

So I’m sure you will be hearing a lot more about my adventures with Yoga becuase I’m obsessed now! :)
